This practice builds strength, flexibility, and stamina, fostering overall well-being and focus. Developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore and inspired by his guru Sri T. Krishnamacharya, Ashtanga Yoga was initially designed for soldiers. It gained global recognition in the 1960s when Jois began teaching Western students.

Anatomy, Physiology & TCM

You’ll explore Qi, meridians, the five elements, and the Chinese Organ Clock through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Chakra theory is also included, offering insight into the meaning and effects of the 7 chakras on the body. Students in 200, 300, or 500-hour programs will complete both practical and theory exams to assess their learning.

Hands-on Training

In the hands-on training, you will learn how to confidently guide Yin Yoga classes, lasting up to 90 minutes or less. You will be taught to lead both the class and individual asanas, including how to guide students with their eyes covered, using verbal cues to direct their practice. Each session has a specific goal, which you will work towards. Throughout the training, you will receive personalised guidance from our experienced yoga instructors. You will also have the opportunity to practice teaching, give and receive constructive feedback, observe others while they teach, and assist students during classes led by your fellow trainees.

Opening & Closing Rituals

Feel free to check-in anytime from 10 am on the day before your course begins. This arrival day is dedicated to settling in and acquainting yourself with your new surroundings. In the evening, an orientation and opening ceremony await, followed by a heartwarming welcome dinner. The next morning, your training schedule kicks off with a sunrise fire ceremony, setting a serene and empowering tone for the days ahead. On the final day, a closing ceremony will be held where you’ll receive your well deserved certificate, followed by a memorable photo session with your fellow graduates. To start your yoga training you don’t need any prior experience. You can join 200 hr yoga training without completing 100 hr yoga teacher training. Shree Hari Yoga helps you to recover and have a proper yoga practice.
You will be provided a t-shirt from Shree Hari Yoga and it is compulsory to wear it during yoga practice.
