Meet Our Founder Harji
Guided by the Heart, Rooted in Tradition
At Shree Hari Yoga, everything begins with the heart. Founded by Hari Pawali (Hariji), our school was born from a sincere wish to share the ancient wisdom of yoga in a way that is authentic, accessible, and deeply transformative. What started as a small space for self-discovery in the Himalayas has blossomed into a community that welcomes students from all over the world — united by a shared love for yoga, connection, and conscious living.
” I am Hari Pawali, founder of Shree Hari Yoga School. My vision has always been to make authentic yoga education accessible — offering affordable, high-quality trainings in yoga and the healing arts within an inclusive, heart-centered community where all are welcome.”
Shree Hari Yoga began humbly in 2013 in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, when Hariji first offered drop-in classes to locals and travellers drawn to the serenity of the Himalayas.
Over time, he realized that true yoga could not be conveyed in a single class — it needed immersion, reflection, and lived experience.
“Yoga isn’t only about asanas; it’s about self-discovery and learning how to change without suffering.”
With this insight, Hariji founded Shree Hari Yoga School to create space for deeper exploration. What began as a small teaching initiative has since evolved into a global training school that has certified hundreds of yoga teachers through programs rooted in traditional Indian wisdom and guided by compassion.
Our Beginnings
Born into a family of devotees and followers of Lord Shiva, my journey began with my mother, Tara Devi, a Bhakti Guru who introduced me to the devotional path of love and surrender. My early training in the Nath Tradition and my formative years as an ascetic sadhu shaped my understanding of yoga as a complete way of life — one that unites body, mind, and spirit through discipline, awareness, and compassion.
After deepening my practice in a traditional ashram, I felt called to share these teachings more widely. In 2013, I founded Shree Hari Yoga in Gokarna, India, with the dream of building a global family of teachers and practitioners dedicated to living yoga authentically. Since then, we have grown across India and beyond, graduating hundreds of students who now carry this light into the world.
“If you are not breathing, you are not doing yoga.”
This simple truth reminds us that yoga is not about performance, but presence — the breath connecting us to life, to awareness, and to the divine within.
Our Founder Story
Hariji’s teachings are grounded in the belief that yoga is not something we do — it is something we live. Through breath, awareness, and discipline, we move toward balance, clarity, and compassion. Our trainings blend the precision of Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, the flow of Vinyasa, the stillness of Yin, and the healing wisdom of Ayurveda — nurturing every dimension of the human experience.
We honour the ancient traditions of yoga while supporting modern practitioners to find their own authentic expression, both on and off the mat.
Today, Shree Hari Yoga stands as a vibrant community of students, teachers, and seekers.
From our first classes in Dharamshala to our thriving schools in Goa and beyond, Hariji’s vision continues to inspire those who seek not only to teach yoga but to live it deeply
